Turkey Bans 138 Words From The Internet: Teen Forbidden

TURKEY has banned 138 words from Internet domain names. The Telecommunications Directorate has created problems for many sites. For example, sanaldestekunitesi.com (virtualsupportunit.com) contains the world “anal”, which is forbidden.

Australia Bans Wikileaks

HAVING outlawed adolescent porn doodles, the Austrlaiaqn government is bannign Wikileaks, “the website that publishes anonymous submissions of sensitive info on everything from corporations, religion and governments”.

We know this because – oh, the irony:

On its website, Wikileaks, which leaked the news that the government had banned it for leaking information, simply said: “The first rule of censorship is that you cannot talk about censorship.”

The Australian communications regulator has issued a stark warning that websites who link out to ‘banned’ hyperlinks are liable to fine of up to Aus $11,000 a day.

The news comes after web forum Whirlpool was threatened with the fine for posting a hyperlink to a blacklisted anti-abortion website.

Internet Watch Foundation Backtracks On Scopions Virgin

YOU can view the Scorpions Virgin album cover and not become a paedo. Official!

Britain’s internet censor has backtracked on its decision to ban a Wikipedia page for containing a “potentially illegal” image of a naked child.

Over the weekend it emerged that the Internet Watch Foundation, which operates a blacklist to screen out images of child abuse that is used by the majority of British internet providers, had had banned the image of a 32-year-old album cover by German rock group The Scorpions.

Books Interrupted. New Rochelle School Damages Books To Protect Students

IN America, the Land of the Free, pages from Girl Interrupted, the book of the film, have been ripped out. It’s to keep minds pure.  

Students at New Rochelle School High School are going to find it difficult to complete their next assignment: comparing the film adaptation of “Girl, Interrupted” to the best-selling book. In the book, Kaysen recounts her confinement at a Massachussets mental hospital in the 1960’s.

Pages from the middle of the book have been torn out by the school district after having been deemed “inappropriate” by school officials due to sexual content and strong language. Removed is a scene where the rebellious Lisa (played by Angela Jolie in the movie) encourages Susanna (played by Winona Ryder) to circumvent hospital rules against sexual intercourse by engaging in oral sex instead.
