Madeleine McCann: Reporting Going Cheap
THE GUARDIAN continues to beat the Star and Express with a big Madeleine McCann-shaped stick:
The price cut follows a string of high profile problems for Express Newspapers, owner of the Daily Star, which was forced last month to apologise and pay £375,000 in libel damages to the so-called ‘tapas seven’, the group Kate and Gerry McCann dined with on the night their daughter Madeleine disappeared, after the publisher ran a series of defamatory stories about the group.
Get that? The Star and Express are now cheaper because of the McCanns? Will the Sun and Mail be cheaper? What about subscriptions to Sky TV?
In March, Kate and Gerry McCann accepted £550,000 from Express Newspapers after the Daily and Sunday Express, the Daily Star and Daily Star Sunday ran numerous defamatory articles after their daughter Madeleine disappeared from the Praia da Luz resort in Portugal on May 3, 2007.
Cheap reporting all round, then…

Thatpoorpriest! Just goes to prove and demonstrate the tremendous pressure that the PJ were under to have dared arrest the ‘grieving and badly done to parents’!
November 8th, 2008 at 9:55 am
Matt. The CuckooClam knows nothing about this case and the Arseutin crein only quotes out of context and without looking into the syntax of the translations.
Methinks we wastee our breath as we gasp at their ineptitude in assimilating facts!
New thread!
November 8th, 2008 at 9:45 am
Raspy Arseputin says! ”You will be happy to know that it is doubtful if I shall post on this subject again, it has steadily become an anvil for people to forge all sorts of ridiculous and pointless theories on, without a shred of evidence rather like the washed curtains myth and the blue bag myth, none of which manage a mention in the files, and despite official statements, which are ignored if they do not fit the theory of the day.”
……………………………………………………………………………………………..
What absolutely marvellous news. This should make the thread easier to read.
No Arseputin! Yeah!
I wonder which other name he will use to reveal himself to us? Bob? Dave? Jack?

Are you suggesting that it was not Mark Harrison, the Specialist National Search Advisor, who joined the Investigation, who advised, in his report to the PJ, that “specialized dogs should be used, specifically an EVRD with advanced training
to detect dead victims’ cadaver scent and a CSI dog, able to detect human blood” ???
Are you suggesting that he did not advise the PJ re ““new and deeper searches to Murat’s home; and forensic searches to Murat and his friends’ cars and to the McCann couple car, with the EVRD and CSI dogs” ???
Are you quite sure that the Dogs “arrived at the apartment on July 31st” ?
Could you please direct me to the source which suggests that the McCann’s
requested the EVRD and CSI Dogs ?
Is it an Official Source, ie…the Official Files, or is it a Newspaper Source ??
I know how hot you are to discount Newspaper Sources usually.
Many thanks in anticipation.
November 8th, 2008 at 9:44 am
they left a day after their last arguido interview, which incorporated the results of the dog work and involved over 40 unanswered questions. In their defence, the PJ knew they were leaving and didn’t stop them.
November 8th, 2008 at 8:56 am
The dogs arrived (at the McCanns request) at the apartment on July 31st. The McCanns left Portugal on Sept 9th. hardly running for it………..
November 8th, 2008 at 8:42 am
The fact also remains that as soon as the dogs had done their work the McCs ran for it.
November 8th, 2008 at 7:58 am
Raspy
many tx for the reply…now that was not difficult was it
why do you think the PJ asked Mrs K question 41?
November 8th, 2008 at 7:45 am
If you had the ability to read you would see that I put “in short” The act or process of stating a precise meaning or significance; formulation of a meaning.before “my” summation of the handlers report.
The propensity of the less cerebral posters to twist, alter and misrepresent without a thought or a hint of shame official statements, says more about these people than it does about the McCanns or the case.
The guilty in this case WHO EVER they are will surely be apprehended by factual evidence, not the inventions of some hate filled group intent on administering their own kangaroo court justice.
Madeleine McCanns parents, who have lost a child through their own stupidity are in a place no right minded person would ever like to be, what they are suffering I would not even try to imagine, for that suffering to be compounded by the attacks and baseless innuendo of amateur detectives is nothing short of barbarity. Fair comment is one thing, enjoying and adding to the grief of the parents is the act of compassion-less people, and in all this pursuit of the parents, Madeleine McCann has become the means to the lynch mobs cause, and nothing to do with justice for this little girl whither she is alive or otherwise.
You will be happy to know that it is doubtful if I shall post on this subject again, it has steadily become an anvil for people to forge all sorts of ridiculous and pointless theories on, without a shred of evidence rather like the washed curtains myth and the blue bag myth, none of which manage a mention in the files, and despite official statements, which are ignored if they do not fit the theory of the day.

Rasputin,
There has been a cover/clean up. The dogs have confirmed what a lot of people thought, but as yet there is not enough evidence/willingness to proceed.
Meanwhile, the McCann’s have failed to request the Portuguese to carry on with the search or push for the British authorities to investigate. Now that the case has been “parked”, the Mccann’s have been remarkably quiet.

rasputin, i have replied to you but its stuck in mods.

apparently my last comment is awaiting modertaion mods ?please free it thank you.

i’m not squirming at all rasputin, don’t talk rot, i’m sitting here having a nice glass of wine, would you like a drop ? i doubt a blind man could see anything really, but whatever, you have now done what you accused me of, rewriting to make something mean what it doesn’t. it doesn’t say the dogs evidence is useless it says
‘ in any event no evidential or intelligence
reliability can be made from these alerts unless they can be confirmed with
corroborating evidence.’
and i’ve told you twice now how that corroborating evidence could’ve been destroyed. and evidence or spores were found, not only by the dogs, see here for instance:

November 8th, 2008 at 1:19 am
Squirming rather a lot, your take is arrant nonsense, a blind man could see exactly what the dog handler said, in short, without corroboration the dogs alerts are useless as evidence or an indication to evidence.
November 8th, 2008 at 1:09 am
rasputin, they are dogs trained to scent such, they scented such and hence their findings are suggestive that they scented such, there is no misrepresentation or or a long shot as you claim, the only long shot i grant you is making the ’suggestion’ into a postive statement, okay i grant you that, but it’s not a long way it’s more a interpreting of what;
‘My professional opinion as regards to the EVRD’s alert indications is that it is
suggestive that this is ‘cadaver scent’ contaminant ;
means. it means the dogs behaved in a manner which suggests to that individual cadaverine scent was present on the belongs of the mccanns.
and i stated or elaborated that the corrobative measures needed to verify the source of the scent ( such as dna sampling) could have been corrupted by the simple method of washing the affected areas with household detergents.
November 8th, 2008 at 12:54 am
Again you misrepresent even the esteemed dog handlers opinion, which is,
suggestive that this is ‘cadaver scent’ contaminant.
Suggestive is a long way from what you claim, “they state that cadaverine scent was detected by the dogs”
November 8th, 2008 at 12:39 am
apparently its also in persil:

November 8th, 2008 at 12:30 am
rasputin, what is interesting though is that they are an officail body and they state that cadaverine scent was detected by the dogs. the problem was a lack of corroberation by the forensics, the samples found were too corrupted to be of any use. interestingly earlier today i read this on the register, vanish works:

OPERATION TASK CANINE SEARCH REPORT
The tasking for this operation was as per my normal Standard Operating
Procedures. The dogs are deployed as search assets to secure evidence and
locate human remains or Human blood.
The dogs only alerted to property associated with the McCann family. The dog
alert indications MUST be corroborated if to establish their findings as
evidence.
Therefore in this particular case, as no human remains were located, the only
alert indications that may become corroborated are those that the CSI dog
indicated by forensic laboratory analysis.
My professional opinion as regards to the EVRD’s alert indications is that it is
suggestive that this is ‘cadaver scent’ contaminant. This does not however
suggest a motive or suspect as cross contamination could be as a result of a
number of given scenarios and in any event no evidential or intelligence
reliability can be made from these alerts unless they can be confirmed with
corroborating evidence.
