Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty is being lined up to join the cast of EastEnders. Jade Goody’s pal is in talks with BBC chiefs about a major role in the soap.

Shilpa, 32, recently bought a £10million mansion in Surrey - and will make the UK her base when she marries her London-born millionaire business partner Raj Kundra.

A family friend said:
“EastEnders would be the springboard to long-term success in Britain - and that is very much in Shilpa’s sights. She knows all about the show as it is a big hit in her homeland - and of course it is popular with a lot of Indians in the UK.” Shilpa was offered a part on the show - as a love interest for Phil Mitchell - soon after she won Celebrity Big Brother in 2007. She turned it down to concentrate on her Bollywood career.”

The couple, who have been together for two years, are yet to make an official announcement out of respect for Jade Goody, who appeared with Shilpa in Celebrity Big Brother.
But an unofficial annoucement is ok.

It’s taught me a lot. Two years ago we were bickering and fighting on television, and now when I look back it all seems so futile because she’s not even there. Life is so unpredictable, may her soul rest in peace. I have no grudges, we patched up and became friends. I’ve learnt a lot from her — the way she’s lived her life, she’s always made the best of all situations and she’s been a brave girl. I salute her for that.
Touching stuff Shilpa. Just a shame it took Jade’s death for us to hear from her again.

Maybe she can be Danny Dyer’s new love interest. Generally speaking, film stars don’t “do” TV unless their careers are on the slide. There can’t be anymore “cockerney” film roles left for Danny van Dyer I guess.He’s been a villain/hooligan Christ knows how many times now? One suspects that younger stars are coming up behind Ms. Shetty, as is the way with the movie world, if the reports are true…?
Work is work, if you’re an actor. Look at the crap read out by Derek Jacobi on that “In the Night Garden” programme, one of our finest actors ever!

for goodness sake! wat the hell is ur problem! she was doing stuff in India not here. I think it was just a coincidence that she came back to our screens after jade died! If you tabloid can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.
