Six Reasons Why Alan Shearer Will Fail As Newcastle United Manager
THE football world has been rocked - well, shaken a bit - by the not-that-suprising news that Alan Shearer has taken over as Newcastle Utd boss, at least until the end of this season (unless this is a brilliant April Fool’s story??). Howay the lad!
Big Alan’s first game in charge is home to Chelsea. Oh dear. Here, Anorak lists six reasons why Alan will take his beloved club down…
1. He has not got his Uefa coaching badge. Indeed, he has very little coaching experience. Oh well, he’s oor Alan, isn’t he? He’ll be fine…
2. He’s never managed a football club. Small detail, you might say, but a vital one.
3. He’s not the sharpest tool in the box. Judging from his inane, cliché-ridden punditry, Shearer has very little imagination either. That doesn’t bode well.
4. If you don’t know what you’re doing, you can usually get by on supreme charisma (Jose Mourinho) or blind optimistic (see Kevin Keegan). Um, where does that leave Alan?
5. No matter what Shearer does, he can’t match the expectations of Newcastle’s one-eyed fans. He’s not the Messiah, folks.
6. The main reason why Shearer won’t save Newcastle from the drop? The team isn’t very good - and they have a tough run-in. Sorry, Toon Army, you’re headed for the drop.

2mill 4 8weeks daydream,i just wanna help club stay up.
anorak have it right, wolves r at the door, ashley needs to save himself from the hangman, win or lose shearer stays the hero, ashley “well we tried didnt we”this is a calculated gamble by ashley to ward off the inevitable backlash, and 2mill of the fans hard earned cash in shearers”i love newcastle united”his straight in his back pocket,he should only get this fat wedge if if if he keeps em up.
no experience
no coaching
know nothing
2mill could have got mohrino “yes”part time,he knows how to keep em up,could probably do it in his tea breaks.
sell the club to the fans where it truly belongs, and stuff the rest.
Good luck to all the fans, youve been done from a great height.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This may have a posititve effect on one game, but I agree it will have no effect on the outcome of newcastle’s season.
It makes me laugh how idiotic these newcastle fans can be -Gianfranco Zola was a great player, but it took him a fair few games before he steered the team in the right direction….so with 8 games to go its not looking good.
I think the problem with a lot of newcastle fans is that their mind set is 5 years behind everyone else - they still believe they should be achieving the results Bobby Robson’s team achieved.
Newcastle for the drop, and I’m glad, they truly deserve it. Any club that chooses to chop and change their manager as much as them and chant “you don’t know what you’re doing” (one of the most counter productive things you can do as a fan!) deserves to be relegated!

if a manager could succeed purely on goodwill and devotion from the fans, then Shearer won’t have any problems at all…. and, to be fair, he used to be quite handy with the ball in his day….?
