Madeleine McCann Fears Swine Flu
IT’S the media’s Third Summer Of Madeleine McCann and the hacks are planning their summer holidays? Guess where they’re going?
IN “Hissy fits and high fliers”, the Irish Independent prepares families for life in the summer holidays.
Once you have children, holidays become a very different prospect. If you decide to brave it, here are some tips to stay sane.
Drugs? Alcohol? A nanny?
Newstalk radio presenter Tom Dunne, his wife Audrey have two girls, Eva, aged two, and Skye, who’s 10 months old, are going to… Portugal.
“The reason we didn’t go abroad was just fear. It’s as simple as that,” he says.
All aboard!
The Kerr family are travelling to Portugal later this month and the Madeleine McCann abduction is something they are keenly aware of.
“The Maddie abduction would make us extra cautious. You would be very aware of not leaving kids on their own on holidays. I wouldn’t let Emma out of my sight for a minute,” says Michelle.
“If there is anything positive out of it, it’s that parents will keep their eyes peeled,” she adds.
Paranoia is the “positive”.
Another concern for parents this summer is the outbreak of swine flu.
It’s Tabloid Bingo!
And Madeleine McCann is missing…

Tris
a possible link would be GM and SB’s nationality, which could easily be turned into pressures etc

My money is on the chattering classes making a link between the McCann parents and Susan Boyle… the pressures and pitfalls of sudden celebrity status.
Any journo who writes on this topic owes me 50p, which is more than the story would be worth… :p

What has “being a parent” got to do with a person’s reaction to how a child’s disappearance became a chance for newspapers to gawp at the parents, scream “paedo” - killing any debate about peadophilia and how to curtail it - and spin a massive story built on sensation and guesswork? Luc, when did parents become saints and the barometers of what is right and wrong?

Will you stop using this little girls life to make your silly point. Yes, the media talks about Madeleine McCann alot - well done, what an observation. You obviously don’t have children as you would be more compassionate if you did. That picture should be removed it’s horrible and tasteless.

I wonder if Eton College will be holding a Summer School just to catch swine flu?
And if they are the idea was broached here first at Anorak….
