Madeleine McCann’s Algarve Is ‘Awash’ With Paedophiles
MADELEINE McCann Watch: Anorak’s at-a-glance look at Madeleine McCann in the news - Kate and Gerry McCann sue Goncalo Amaral, Oprah Winfrey cruises and washing in Algarve paedophiles…
Sun Times (via): ”Some Things Oprah should know about deaths on cruise ships & the evil cruise companies”
According to Chicago-based Best Travel, a cruise like the one Winfrey is taking her staff on costs about $5,400 a person. The billionaire employs more than 100 people at her Chicago based TV production company which recently featured an interview with the parents of missing toddler Madeleine McCann.
Eyes down for Tabloid Bingo - can you link a big news story to your vested interest?
Speaking of missing persons:
Since the year 2000, 116 cruise ship passengers have gone overboard.

Let’s not go overboard on Our Maddie.
Daily Star: “MADDIE PARENTS SUE ’TEC”
MADELEINE McCann’s parents are launching a £1million lawsuit against the detective who declared them suspects in her disappearance.
It’s Goncalo Amaral. Boo. Hiss. (Psst! Pass the book…).
And they will use any cash they win to help fund their search for her.
There are no winners here.
Gerry and Kate McCann, both 41, have hired Portugal’s top libel lawyer to conduct their claim against Goncalo Amaral.
There are no winners, although lawyers seem to do pretty well…
The 49-year-old ex-police officer was behind the decision to name them suspects after Maddie vanished…
Not suspects. Arguidos. There is a difference. The McCanns were never charged and were free to leave Portugal. The ones who really implied they had done wrong were papers like the, er, Daily Star.
Their lawyer Isabel Duarte, 54, said: “The McCanns have been torn apart by Amaral’s claims.” Amaral’s publisher Mario Sena Lopes said he was “looking forward’’ to facing them in court.
As is the media.
Madeleine McCann is missing - and we are still watching the parents…
The People: “Madeleine McCann’s new file”
British Ambassador Alexander Ellis has asked Portuguese police to reopen the Maddie McCann case. Now the force has promised to look at new evidence into Madeleine’s disappearance in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz two years ago just before her fourth birthday.
What new evidence. Hey, what evidence?
They had said Maddie was dead and the case was closed. But Foreign minister Chris Bryant said: “The head of the Portuguese criminal investigation police is ready to consider credible new leads which may come to light.”
Or which may not come to light. D’yer see?
Detectives working for Maddie’s parents Kate and Gerry of Rothley, Leics, say the Algarve is awash with paedophiles. In the last four years seven children of tourists have been molested and there are 38 known sex offenders in the area.
Awash. Seven. And one child missing…

I think a lot of the published comments are tasteless. Whatever her parents should or should not have done, it is the abductor who is to blame.

I agree with Veronica Russel, (comment 11) ,…Personally i would have folllow a completely different line of enquiry/investigation and approach this Mc Cann case from a different angle,….Observation,Hypothesis, Deduction/Confirmation of formulated hypothesis,….time will tell.

Have I missed something? I thought that this threat to sue was months old news and that nothing had happened in the interim, or at least i have not read anything other than they will be counter sued. More story placement from camp McCann!

How come this does not surprise me. Actually I was wondering what cash cow they were going after next. The parents are always prime suspects in the kidnapping or disappearance so what makes the McCanns so different. Oh yes the fact that they left their three young children 3 and under alone, in a strange country to go out and party??????? Where I come from this is “negligence” and their children would have been removed from them. Where do they get the nerve to act so sanctimonious and get away with it.

Why are the McCann`s are suing the police in Portugal?,i think he was doing is job, and the parents are the first ones to be suspects until they find the guilt ones, I think they are afreid because they left them alone, wich they sould not have to do that, and i think they like to do that so they do not feel so guilt about leaving them alone.

Cheryl, amazing that the McCanns would even think of holidaying over there though. That is interesting yoru finding out all that on the internet and what a lowlife place to go. I suppose anywhere in the world has the possibility of pedos living in the area, just look at Australia for instance.

Lyn, it is not printed in any of the literature touting Portugal as a great place to vacation. I found prior activity of it in Portugal in five minutes on the internet only because when I read of Madeleine’s disappearance it had the smell of possible paedophile involvement and I put that in my search.

The McCanns are doctors are doctors are usually well informed about holidays places that could be a risk to families. They went and they left their kids alone for hours. So, why did they go to such a place. Plenty of other places around to holiday in.

I want to get season 12 of this new series on DVD. It’ll be a multi-generational game show! They’ll finally find her after she gets pulled over by the police for speeding in her Jaguar….. she’ll be 18!

Just looking
hate to think how awash we are here with paedos too.
July 15th, 2009 at 6:16 pm
7 molestations by paedos in 4 years is 1.7 per annum in Pt.
Here, around 3 children per week die from abuse by primary carers which is 156 per annum. If Pt is ‘awash’ with paedos, perhaps we in the UK can claim top trumps for parental child killings?

Don’t forget the Pick a Key game. They’ll be using the church door.
