Sky News : “Girl Missing For 18 Yrs Worked As Secretary”

Former customers of suspected kidnapper Phillip Garrido had no idea that his assistant “Alissa” was the girl at the centre of a high-profile abduction.

Much like the police, then..

Ben Daughdrill used Mr Garrido’s Print For Less business for six years. He said: “She always came across as very polite, very good natured. There was never any reason to think anything different – [she was] just like another secretary at another office.”

Facts. But that’s no good. We need speculation. We need you to tell us what you don’t know…

But Mr Daughdrill says he believes Jaycee may have been coerced by Mr Garrido. “Knowing what I know now I would say he had definitely threatened her and said a lot of things.”

Belives. Definitely. Such are the facts. What about Phillip Garrido and Jaycee’s children Starlite and Angel?

Cheyvonne Molina did business with Mr Garrido for a decade and met Jaycee’s two daughters at a “Sweet 16” party for her daughter.

She said: “They were just your regular 15-year-old, your average 11-year-old.”

Daily Star :

Traumatised Jaycee and her daughters – named yesterday as Starlite and Angel – face years of counselling after their ordeal. Police say the girls, aged 11 and 15, act like “robotic zombies” because of the way religious nut.

Just regular teenage zombies.

All the pictures of the case so far .

Sydney Morning Herald : “Jaycee’s girls and God’s Desire: ‘like Little House on the Prairie meets robots’”

You mean they weren’t robots on the documentary LHOTP?

Daily Telegraph : “Jaycee Lee Dugard’s daughters Angel and Starlite did not know their mother had been kidnapped”

Cheyvonne Molino said Mr Garrido and one of his daughters dropped in every other day for ten or 15 minutes at her husband’s car wrecking business.

“The girls were polite, they played with my daughter in my office, sometimes on the internet,” she said, adding that their clean appearance betrayed nothing of the squalid conditions they endured in tents and outhouses in the back yard of Mr Garrido’s Antioch home.

Such are the facts.

The Sun : “Jaycee became second wife to captor Garrido”

A second wife sounds conventional. And this story is anything but. Says Jaycee Probyn of his step-daughter:

“She’s fragile and it paid off – she survived for 18 years. I think if she’d have been feisty and tried to climb the fence every day she probably wouldn’t be here right now. She accepted the situation and dealt with it.”

Phillip Garrido laid bare his vile sex fantasies in song lyrics he wrote while banged up in jail. The pervert – a keen singer and bass player – described what he wanted to do to kidnap victim Jaycee Lee Dugard, then just 13, when he was released.

In 1993, Phillip Garrido was jailed for violating his parole.

A friend said last night: “I know now that that girl was Jaycee. She has blue eyes. He’s talking about getting out of prison and getting home to the girl he kept in his back yard. In the song he talks about getting down and dirty…

“At first they sound innocent enough, like any guy talking about his girl. But knowing now what I know they have very different and horrible meanings. The lyrics tie in to the kidnap, it makes me sick to my stomach.”

The mate added: “He said he loved sex and wanted it 24/7. He had some pretty messed up fantasies and would openly share them with me. He liked rough sex and he told me he liked his girls young. I took that to mean 18 or 19, not 13.”
