So, Michael Jackson was a hopeless drunk was he?

EVERYONE pretty much thought of Michael Jackson as a troubled child trapped inside a troubled genius’ body. For a period, he was pretty much untouchable and then, in later life, pretty much in a state where no-one really wanted to touch him unless it was absolutely necessary.

However, the childlike quality remained and you could picture him, floating around his house like Peter Pan (only with a frightening face). You certainly couldn’t imagine him indulging in adult activities like jerking off or getting hammered.

Concerning the latter, that seems to be the case as someone has said that MJ was a hopeless drunk.

Randy Phillips – a man who is used to dealing with music world’s excesses – saw Michael Jackson in his London hotel suite and was left in a state of panic.

“MJ is locked in his room drunk and despondent,” Phillips said in an email to his boss at Anschutz Entertainment Group, the Los Angeles company staking a fortune on the singer. “I [am] trying to sober him up.”

AEG President Tim Leiweke read the message and fired back on his BlackBerry: “Are you kidding me?”

“I screamed at him so loud the walls are shaking,” Phillips told him. “He is an emotionally paralyzed mess riddled with self loathing and doubt now that it is show time.”

In the leaked emails, loads of details have emerged, all likely to play a pivotal role in two lawsuits set for trial next year. The ‘This Is It’ insurers are asking a judge to nullify a $17.5-million policy that they say AEG got with false claims about Jackson’s health and readiness to perform. Jackson’s family are pressing a wrongful-death suit that accuses AEG of pressuring MJ to do gigs despite being too ill.

“If you are in the creative arts business, you are going to be involved with individuals who have a great many problems,” said AEG attorney Marvin Putnam. “Michael Jackson was an adult and … it is supercilious to say he was unable to take care of his own affairs.”

We just hope Jackson was a Party 7 man.

PA PHOTOS/DPA - UK USE ONLY : US pop star Michael Jackson is holding his youngest son Prince Michael II with just one arm over the balustrade of the window of the president's suite on the fifth floor of Hotel Adlon, Berlin, 19 November 2002. This scene caused a lot of excitement. About 200 fans cheering outside were terrified, the incident was reported worldwide, and child welfare experts criticized Jackson harshly for dangling the baby from a balcony. The musician regrets this by writing that he made a 'terrible mistake' as he was overwhelmed emotionally by his supporters. Jackson and his three children are staying at the president's suite. On Thursday, 21 November, Jackson, 44, will receive the 'Bambi' entertainment award for his lifetime achievements.
