9/11 Truthers And Whackos Go For Campaigner Ellen Mariani

ellen-mariani-and-husband.JPGAS if it wasn’t bad enough that her husband died on 9/11 and that she is waging a lonely war against the government for compensation, Ellen Mariani has now found herself in the sights of 9/11 conspiracy theorists

According to New York Post columnist Andrea Peyser, the conspiracy “whackos” have posted Mariani’s home address online and accused her husband of complicity in the attacks.

“They’re dirty sons of bastards!” Mariani, 69, told Peyser. “They are not real men…They have no respect for women, no respect for the dead and no respect for little children who now have been orphaned.”

Mariani’s husband Neal died aboard United 175 on Sept. 11, 2001.

“9/11 researchers” have published records showing that Neil transferred his property to his wife on July 26, 2001, two days after management of the World Trade Center was transferred to developer Larry Silverstein.

This is enough for conspiracy junkies to put two and two together and implicate the Mariani’s in the theory that 9/11 was an inside job.

What’s most surprising about the attack on Mariani is that until recently she was something of a hero among the conspiracy movement. She refused money from the 9/11 victims’ compensation fund and instead decided to take the Bush Administration to court.

In an open letter posted on the 911truth.org website in February that ends with an appeal for money to continue her fight, Mariani wrote:

“After five years of battling to find the truth of 9/11/2001, the day I lost my husband Louis Neal Mariani on United Airlines Flight 175, I want to give 9-11 activists and 9-11 researchers an idea of what I’ve been through. It includes emotional abuse, harassment, lawyers’ misguidance, and now the prospect of financial ruin. Even more, there’s been a constant pressure to give up the fight to expose the criminals involved in 9/11 and what they did to our loved ones—and to the service men and women presently fighting and dying in the aftermath of September 11, 2001.”

How ironic that the “9/11 research” movement itself is now harassing Mariani.
