Woman Turns Herself In For Drink Driving

by | 31st, January 2008

PAT Dykstra, of  Wisconsin, called the emergency services to tell them she may be too drunk to drive.

Says she: “I don’t really think I was thinking that much at the time.”

Dykstra had been drinking in a bar and gone home. Police arrived her at her home. She was breathalyzed and found to be over the state’s legal driving limit.

Says County Sheriff Todd Nehls: “Dykstra did the right thing. I think a judge will look at her and say, ‘You know what? You stepped up to the plate. You did the right thing. I think it’s commendable.”

The right thing? She had already made it home. Can the police prove she had driven while over the limit? Was her car parked in her front room?
