A Word For Friends Of The Writers Guild Of America

by | 9th, February 2008

wga.jpgTHE WRITERS Guild Of America is on strike. This is important because if these people do not go back to work, Channel 4 will be forced to run repeats of Friends for ever, and Big Brother.

Writes WGA West president Patric Verrone and WGA East prexy Michael Winship:

“It is an agreement that protects a future in which the Internet becomes the primary means of both content creation and delivery. It creates formulas for revenue-based residuals in new media, provides access to deals and financial data to help us evaluate and enforce those formulas, and establishes the principle that, ‘When they get paid, we get paid.'”

Did either of those WGA leaders write that line Ben Affleck delivered in Pearl Harbor: “Not anxious to die sir, just anxious to matter”?

If they did – welcome back. And thanks…
