Which Man Utd player sunbathed under Old Trafford’s UV lights?

by | 5th, February 2009

A Man Utd groundsman has revealed he found a United player sunbathing under the UV lighting used to help the grass grow on the pitch at Old Trafford. True story.

Annoyingly, the groundsman refused to name the culprit but described the incident as his highlight of the year.

It’s Anorak’s duty to speculate on which player was caught catching some artificial rays. Everyone’s first guess is, naturally, Cristiano Ronaldo. C-Ron has previous form (see photo), but somehow we doubt even he’d be wacky enough to pull off such a stunt, even if he is certainly vain enough. No, it’s more likely to be one of the team’s practical jokers, and almost certainly one of United’s British contingent. Our guess is Darren Fletcher, a pale Scot who could use a bit of colour in his cheeks.

Who do you think it was?
