Police Order Drunk Man To Drive Then Arrest Him For Drunk Driving
TO Illinois, where Travis Peterson is drunk. He has seen the Dave Matthews Band concert south of Milwaukee, and realised that he is no condition to dive. So he sits in his car to sleep it off.
A state trooper taps on the window and with customary panache tells Peterson to move along. Peterson says he should not drive. But state troopers make the laws – who knew? The car park is closing and Petersen must drive or else.

Petersen is arrested and subsequently found guilty and ordered to spend 60 days in jail.
To a Wisconsin appeals court, where people not in uniform commend Petersen for behaving well. The state trooper- well, he did as was expected and is now on a work exhange scheme with Westminster council traffic wardens…
