Police Set Fire To Man With Taser
TO the desert community of Warburton, Western Australia, where Ronald Mitchell, 36, an alleged petrol-sniffer, is Tasered by police and duly bursts into flames.
Mitchell is now critical in a hospital.
Police say the got a call to a house. Upon arrival, Mitchell rushed at them sporting a cigarette lighter and a plastic bottle, which they now believe to have contained petrol.
Mitchell refused to stop. Fearing they were about to be attacked by a man armed with a deadly cigarette lighter, the trained police unloaded a few thousand volts of safe electricity into their target.
At which point Mitchell burst into flames, further endangering the attending officers.
Mr Mitchell is, incidentally, an Aborigine.
