Billie Piper On Prostitute Belle Du Jour And ‘Knocking One Out’

by | 4th, January 2010

piperBILLIE Piper would like Marie Claire readers to know that she is not a prostitute.

Sure, Piper did dress up provocatively for a TV – on the press releases Piper wore stockings and suspenders or a rubber dress. But Piper chose to pretended to be a woman who chose to be a prostitute in what ITV called a “naughty new drama” Belle De Jour, Secret Diary Of A Call Girl.(Pictures here.)

She was also only pretending to have sex on BBC’s Canterbury Tales. As Belle (Piper) tells viewers:

“Work out what the client wants as fast as you can and give it to him.'”

The casting director tunes in, fingers the hem of some knickers. The job’s yours.

Says Piper to Marie Claire:

“It’s funny. When Laurence [husband] and I go out into the countryside, I think a few of the older locals actually believe I’m a whore. They love Laurence because he’s in Lewis, and his fan club are basically in their mid-60s and upwards. They love him. It’s sickening.

“They follow him around, they want to mother him. I mean, there are places he can’t go – like Mecca Bingo or the bowling green – but he loves it.

“Then they look at me and are like, ‘That slag! How could you dirty yourself with her? She’s corrupted you’.”

But the real Piper is different. Whereas Belle du Jour wrote about her sex life, Piper talks about it and lets someone else write it down:

“It was literally jet-lag sex. You do make an active decision that you’re not going to use condoms or whatever. Then there’s that ‘I am so in love, I just want to have your baby!’.

“It’s such a hot thing, it’s so gorgeous. ‘We fell in love, I want you to impregnate me!’. I don’t know what’s not hot about that. And also, making a child in the throes of love instead of, ‘Oh, I suppose we should knock one out’.”

Knocking one out? Is Piper writing her own reviews for a lads’ mag? In pictures
