Colombian Football Fans Carry Dead Body Into Match

CHRISTOPHER Jacome has been in his coffin to watch Colombia’s Cucuta Deportivo take on  Envigado at the General Santander Stadium in Cucuta.

Jacome, a member of the club’s “Barra del Indio”, was killed in his local park by gunmen.

The club’s Julio Rivera, says:

“They don’t let in the ‘barras’ (fanatics) but yes, a cadaver. This is the only part of the world where this has happened.”

It’s all good clean fun, of course. It’s not like anyone got hurt. But local police chief Colonel Pico says ther person who took the body from the funeral home will be punished.

Sheesh! Football used to be a giggle. Add dead bodies in coffins to the list of items banned from football grounds
