Hypnotist Knocks Himself Out On Dorset Stage: Or Does He?

by | 5th, June 2011

TO Dorset, where at Portland’s Royal Manor Theatre, David Days is performing his hypnosis show. Days is going to be huge. Huge… Huuuuge. Look into my eyes…

Dubbed by Star magazine as the next Paul McKenna, David Days is set to become T.V.’s next great hypnotist.  Having already hypnotized boy band Blue live on I.T.V.’s Ministry of Mayhem, David is currently putting forward proposals for a brand new, never-seen-before, T.V. series.

David famously turned Blue from a four-stong group of plumbers into believing they were chickens and the new Beatles.

Sadly, things did not go well for Days. He tripped on stage. He bashed his head. He was knocked out. The audience was asked to leave. The three people hypnotised on stage remained on stage.

Alan Coman, treasurer of the Royal Manor Theatre, says it was part of the act:

“It was part of a project for students who were filming the whole thing… but they (the people on stage being hypnotised) weren’t pretending because they didn’t get up to help. The audience didn’t know (that it was part of the act) but it was purely to test hypnotism.”

Days’ manager, Tara Nix, offers:

“He was out for a little while and that is why we asked the audience to leave. Three people were left on stage but we always have a back-up tape and a back-up hypnotist to step in if needed. Luckily, it wasn’t too long until he recovered and he and the guests are fine. To be honest I think this is the first time it has ever happened to a hypnotist.”

Yes. The first time. It ne-e-e-ever happened….
