Rebekah Brooks tells NOTW Journos she’s not having a good time: EXCLUSIVE, BREAKING

by | 8th, July 2011

REBEKAH Brooks revealed she isn’t having a great time in her on-the-burning-bridge speech to News of The World staffers this afternoon at 4pm, where she explained the decision to close the paper and kill 160 jobs.

Countering suspicions that she might be just chilling out and looking forward to a holiday in Italy, the former News of The World editor exclusively revealed to a pack of journalists: “This is not exactly the best time in my life”. Listen to the ground-breaking revelation in full  in the 3 minute snatch of the audio below (via lisaocarroll).

There’s another exciting bit at 1.09 when a News of the World journalist facing redundancy challenges her with tarnishing all other journalists at the paper. And some logic-mashing at 2.45 when she tells them that they must be innocent because they’re feeling sad. Does that make her innocent too?

“We know there’s no toxicity attatched to you guys in the room. That’s the sadness. We wouldn’t all be feeling like this if you guys were up to your neck in it like previous colleagues. We wouldn’t all be feeling like this would we?”
