The News Of The World Acrostic Challenge: Will Sacked Sub-Editors Have Last Laugh?

by | 9th, July 2011

THE last ever News of The World goes to print tonight. Will the paper’s  skilled and talented sub-editors make their views of Rupert Murdoch, James Murdoch and Rebekah Brooks known in an acrositic?

This site makes a claim – sadly one uncorroborated (if you know more, do tell):

A former employee of Rupert Murdoch’s Sky Sports television station who worked as a staff writer on the channel’s website has claimed that he and his colleagues would regularly use acrostics to spell out hidden messages in articles on the website in protest at being told to “write as though football was invented in 1992”. Two of the messages claimed to have been spelt out on the website were “Andy Gray fists geese” and “Rupert Murdoch is a c*nt”.

First one to spot a hidden message wins!

Why not try your own…
