Megadeth: Nazi Obama is staging massacres, apparently

by | 17th, August 2012

EVEN a passing metal fan could tell you that Dave Mustaine – the lead singer of Megadeth and original member of Metallica – is batshit mental. He’s got things misfiring in his brain that would make a lunatic laugh uncomfortably. And now, Mustaine is going all David Icke and sharing conspiracy theories with us all.

This time, saying that Barack Obama “staged” the massacre in Colorado in a bid to pass a gun ban.

Mustaine made the comments on stage in Singapore, telling the crowd: “Back in my country, my president … he’s trying to pass a gun ban, so he’s staging all of these murders, like the ‘Fast And Furious’ thing down at the border … Aurora, Colorado, all the people that were killed there … and now the beautiful people at the Sikh temple.”

“I don’t know where I’m gonna live if America keeps going the way it’s going because it looks like it’s turning into Nazi America.”

It seems our Dave is on a mission to make everyone raise their eyebrows so high that they end up travelling all the way over your head, down your back and form themselves into some kind of buttock moustachio. Either way, Megadeth fans are not happy at all.

One of the victims, Carli Richards, has hit out, saying: “Some people think the President is a good scapegoat, but he didn’t shoot me. It’s obviously kind of absurd and people who make up conspiracies just want attention.”

“Everybody is emotional at this time and needs to blame somebody I guess. I don’t think they realise the consequences of not being responsible for your own actions, and James Holmes needs to be held accountable for his, to whatever way the justice system deems fit.”

Now, thanks to the level of anger, Mustaine has tried to clear up what he meant, saying:

“There’s some questions here, I just think that we deserve to know the truth – that’s it. I’m a patriot, I love our country, I’ve always been controversial. I’m a political songwriter and this wasn’t done to hurt any of my fellow countrymen. I’ve always been controversial’, just in case you were wondering, is code for ‘I lack basic empathy for bad situations and just say whatever I want without worrying about anything other than the sound of my own voice.'”

You can see Mustaine’s comments (around the two minute thirty mark, if you want to skip) in the video below. Be warned that there’s some fruity language, if that kind of thing offends you.
