When Kym Marsh married in OK! we pined for Jagger and Bianca

by | 19th, September 2012

LAST week, OK! showed us Kym Marsh (Coronation Street actress formerly married to EastEnders actor Jack Ryder) tie the knot with Jamie Lomas (actor on Hollyoaks). What we did not learn was what the couple and their guests ate. Thankfully, OK! has news:

Guests sipped sauvignon blanc and rosada wine in Jasmine glasses to accompany their starter of melon and Cheshire air-dried ham and a vanilla and black pepper dressing…a mouth-watering roast breast of chicken with mini roast potatoes and mash, honey-roasted vegetables with a Yorkshire pudding and smoked bacon jus…a trio [of] desserts…lemon tart, Eton mess and chocloate pot in a delicious cup made of rich cholocate…

…an icn cream from the Victorian cart…old-fashioned jars of sweets…

“…chip butties, fish and chips anda cheese board”

Celebrity weddings have lost their pizzazz and grotesqueness. Marsh was, reportedly, paid £500,000 to have her wedding sponsored by OK!.  The magazine knows how much we love looking at these dos. But without any drama, it’s flat.

Celebrity weddings peaked with Mick Jagger’s wedding to Bianca Perez Moreno de Macias in 1971. The Times reported the do thus:

On the morning of the wedding a row erupted over sharing his fortune. As the guests waited in the St Tropez council chamber, Bianca was browbeaten into accepting Jagger’s terms.

Eventually, 50 minutes late, the marriage took place, Jagger swearing under his breath while Bianca cried. At the reception, Keith Richards — dressed as a Nazi — hurled an ashtray through a window before passing out. Bianca left early.

Later, Keith Moon climbed through the window of bride and groom’s wedding suite.

That’s the way you do it. If you take the money, you need to entertain. Come on on, celebs, step it up…
