Gordon Brown: “We Not Only Saved The World”
GORDON Brown - what started as parody ends in truth. Says Grodon Brown during PMQ’s:
“We not only saved the world”
Hurrah!
Of course what Gordon meant to say was: “We not only spent the word”, as is right and prudent…

It is very irritating. It’s far too complicated for me to say what policies would work but from observation the policies that are being put in place, by the so called experts, aren’t working either or am I missing something? Why are we in the worse position than most? Who exactly was and is in charge when all of this came about and had nothing left in the pot to buffer us? Who sold all the gold at rock bottom prices? Who is borrowing more and more money and throwing it something that doesn’t seem to be working? Who is creating a future tax bombshell on our kids? Who thinks they saved the world? Not me. Who funded the banks and then allowed them to carry on their ***edits*** as usual? It’s all very well leaping forth with a big red cape on saying follow me follow me I know what i’m doing but it seems to me like he’s done this without thorough thought just to try and gain some political points, which admittedly has happened, but to our expense. It’s our expense because if it doesn’t work we’ve been right royally shafted and so have our kids. Other European countries are now saying whoooa hold on a minute and I don’t blame them. The problem with this country is the need to be in charge at all costs. Every day we see the whole lot of them lie through their teeth, not answer questions, bluff this and in some instances are just downright rude and the worse thing about it is not one of the parties are worth being in charge. They all fuck things up and the reason why they do is because they want the power. Rather than actually do things right by the people that vote them in they do us wrong to ensure that they have the power. They are, in my eyes worse than bankers. I wouldn’t piss on any of them if they were on fire. I wish, just for once, I could switch on PMQ’s or anything else they are debating and actually watch intelligent people talking and showing respect towards us and the country. It’s a farce. They’re like a bunch of kids playing games. The speaker is unreal. He’s worse than the lot of them plus his mrs. When scandal breaks they always have an investigation by their own people. Sod that. It should be completely independant. They get with absolute murder and I’ll say it again. It’s because we’re mugs.

Fuly Secured Bank Funded Pigeon,
I’m glad to see you are in fine form, but, with the greatest of respect, it would help if you specified what policies you think we should be following, and why you think those policies would work. The problem that the Tories have at the moment is that they have no policies, and their time honoured standby of doing what the IMF says is of no help to them because what the IMF now says bears no resemblance to what the IMF used to say when it was anyone other than the US in the deep dooda.
Add to that the fact that the IMF has no money to lend to anyone, and can only get it from places like Japan, which is adamantly opposed to any country following the policies urged upon it by the IMF when Japan went into recession, and you will perceive that the Tories are not going to be able to get funding from the IMF.
And Japan, China and the Gulf States, who are the only countries with money which might invest in our country, think that the only way the global economy might improve slightly in the worst conditions since the Great Depression is by economic stimulus policies. Which means the Tories couldn’t get any money from them either, because investors will not put money into something they perceive as making it less likely that they will get their money back.
As for the degree of ‘doing well’, we have been a lot tougher on the banks than the US is; take a look at the pork being funnelled into the pockets of the US banking system, and the way in which firms like Goldman Sachs are making a total mockery of the clients who they are shafting big time. If you want to see absolutely cynical abuse, then look at the municipal bonds lead managed by Goldman Sachs which they then turn round and slag off so they can sell credit default swaps on them at a hefty profit; there’s an excllent article on it on Bloomberg today:
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=ac9AV.yzTCNw
I would love to see the banks reap all that they have sown; unfortunately I do realise that whilst it would be a deeply enjoyable sight, we would all be monumentally screwed if the global banking system failed totally. There are times when you have to pass up the satisfaction of watching a bunch of w*nkers jump off a cliff because the w*nkers would take the rest of us with them.
Irritating, isn’t it?

Would they be right? Quite often slip of the tongues reveal what the person is actually thinking. I think he thinks he’s doing his best so you can give him credit for that but in real terms their policies on the economy are pretty rubbish. The VAT ’solution’ to get people spending again is an insult. The small business loan guarantee only provides for 0.2% of businesses. It all looks good when spoken about but when you get down to the nitty gritty it actually amounts to feck all and while he’s pumping billions of our money into failed buisnesses like banks and possibly others it makes you wonder why. Why is his stimulus package going to work better? It hasn’t so far. Banks aren’t lending. The libor is improving that much and the only hting that has got us spending is the fact that the shops have created massive sales. That’s all well and good now but if Gordons plan doesnt’ work then it’s really going to hurt tax payers in the future. It’s all very well spending our money like there’s no tomorrow but what he fails to realise is that’s exactly the reason why we’re in such a mess in the first place. We are suffering worse than other countries that have also been affected by the mortgage crisis and we’re the ones pumping all the bloody money in. Why? It’s because we’re mugs. That’s why.

It was only a slip of the tongue… The problem is, a lot of people suspect Gordon Brown might actually believe it.
December 10th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
