Madeleine McCann: Scottish Government’s Pink Teddy, Shannon Matthews And Liverpool’s Capital Year
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann, Kate McCann and Gerry McCann
BELFAST TELEGRAPH: “Gran’s Christmas present for Madeleine McCann unopened for second year”
The Irish grandmother of missing girl Madeleine McCann had a Christmas present ready for the five-year-old this year.
Don’t spoil the surprise…
For the second Christmas in a row, Eileen McCann left a large pink teddy bear on Madeleine’s bed, as she clings to hope that she will return home.
Oh, no! Not another pink teddy. Who buys two pink teddies for a little girl? They want nail polish and a Bratz styling head and Aquabeads…
Last year, she decided that a huge pink teddy with a white heart on it, a gift to her from the Scottish government, would be her present for Madeleine.
THE STAR: “Family torn between hope and despair for missing son”
Andrew Gosden was aged 14 when in September 2007 he left his family home in Doncaster and headed to London with just a couple of hundred pounds in his pocket.
A runaway?
Of course the anguish for Andrew’s parents has been played out against the backdrop of two much more high-profile cases of missing children - Madeleine McCann and Shannon Matthews.
The family feel some affiliation with Madeleine’s parents, who like them still await answers, but are troubled by the effect the Shannon case might have had on the British public.
“Charlotte was quite angry and upset, feeling that when so many people work hard to raise awareness of genuine needs, it is undone so readily by an unusual but highly publicised case such as this,” Kevin said.
“I wonder myself if it causes the public to make assumptions that there are dysfunctional families behind all missing cases. All I can assure you is that that is not the case.”
Although not everyone can be a doctor…
LIVERPOOL DAILY POST: “What a Capital year for the city”
Highlights of the Liverpool year:
MAY – Local politics became nailbiting with the Liberal Democrats in Liverpool holding onto control by a whisker when the independent councillor Nadia Stewart agreed to join their ranks. The party’s leader, Warren Bradley, saw off a challenge to his leadership later in the month.
It was the first anniversary of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Gerry and Liverpudlian Kate McCann, attended Our Lady of the Annunciation, Childwall, Kate’s parents’ parish.
Early signs of the credit crunch came with news that repossessions were up by almost a third in Liverpool.
A missing child found amid the credit crunch and local politics. A capital year…

No moderation - just caution by the mods. The McCanns are litigious, and have already defended themselves in court and - rightly - won. If this thread is to last it needs to be treated with care.

Ah ha. “You” didn’t like the previous comment?
True though wasn’t it??

And even if you do post you’re slung in moderation!

The nose looks different. On Madeleine small and retrousse, the nose on the older girl is more bulbous. But it’s still worth checking out.

Darlings, Delinquents and Doodlebugs lend me your eyes ………. Tis an ill wind that bloweth around my corsetry and bloomers on this chill winter’s evening ……….
Alas - I have lost all my play-mates, banterers and wind-up merchants - and solely because of this my doctor has had to change my tablets to something much too strong. I fear that I have become a mere wither and wisp of what I once was.
With regard to similarly banal and obsequious posters such as the particular Hag below - I fear I must conclude my postings before I end up as fucking barmy as her and her pals like Arseputin!
Arseputin, GonadLF and Garsehole - please remember that should this tripe ever end up in a Court - the postings from all of your tribe has been copied and saved in equal measure - you numpty lot! ……….. The offers of sex and rape and being dumped in concrete etc.
Knew ye not what spewed forth from your own tiny little minds and onto the pages of these web-sites??? You are all a band of Arse-Wipes

Following several private posts I’ve received…. I would like to enlarge on my post re: the dark side.
I have to be fair and say that there are some nice friendly well-balanced posters on the dark side with whom I correspond regularly but sadly they are consistently over-shadowed by those with a personal agenda to which the finding out of what happened to Madeleine McCann is secondary. Sad really…..
Off out now to get some fresh (ie freexing cold) air!
……………………………………………………………………………………..
Mmmmmmmm! With posters like this - who have their own transparent and obvious agendas - not to mention the media monitors of the New World Order poking their noses up the arses of all our web-sites and posts in the near future - I fear that Cocoistic blatherings have become somewhat untenable and passe.
Hark! I hear the mincing footsteps of a media monitoring agency as I write ……
Forsooth ……. the Ides of March and the Idealogical World of the Media Monitors are already upon us and in our midst ………
- And fuck me - if Hags and Weirdies are on the pay-roll - it could get dangerous out there
……… It’s gonna be like the kind of Neighbourhood Watch schemes that we used to have in Russia before Glasnost ……..
Fare ye well! ……. They are amongst us in droves …….. Droves I say! Being driven by what I ask myself …….. Over and over. ……. By what? Paranoia?
And they must ask themselves ……. Why did we educate the serfs? Why oh why did they give them access to the great big Web?
Fucked if I know ……… Any sick and unwell person like me with a lap-top could be tapping into the World security sites at any time of day - but here we are arguing about why white, well-educated, well-heeled, well-connected people could not answer some simple questions about a simple case of a child going missing ………
Ho hum ……….. Must go coz Eddie can’t remember where he put his signed copy of his CEOPS manual ………… If he can’t find it - I’ll have to go and get him another copy off a copper I know who I used to buy my weed and coke off

Karen I agree. No-one actually knows anything. we all speculate from all sides and all opinions are valid…. without the libel and preferably without the personal abuse!

What are they donating for? Isn’t that possibly but-of-course-not verging on a scam????

It’s mean - but despite being hurtful - it’s irrelevant. It’s not the kind of crime that public opinion can influence until the criminal is caught. All we can do is chat and all opinions are relevant (minus the libel).

I popped over , and saw the donate button and the amount of donations, and also how much they have paid the server, just wondering if they shall raise enough if anyone …..
January 4th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
Karen, the problem I have with it is that Madeleine seems to have been forgotten. The whole focus is on the parents and their friends and all manner of salacious unfounded allegations. Its about convicting the McCanns regardless because they don’t like them. Its no longer about a search for TRUE justice……
Not many care about the child that was Madeleine and her fate anymore. sad.

I managed to log on to the dark side! - it’s like the bitter rivalry between Heat and Vogue.
January 4th, 2009 at 3:04 pm
I can’t keep up the ridicule/outrage at Kate and Gerry, now I’m no longer exposed to their daft statements. I wish them well in obscurity and if I see a small blond child wandering around the west coast of Scotland I’ll snatch it from it’s parents and send it to Rothley.

The vile torturers at 3a will face the consequences of their slanderous utterances, all catalogued and filed for the perusal of the loving couples legal eagles. Armageddon is nigh for that dark and barren place.

Morning all. so cold outside its a good say to knuckle down to work.
I see that Rasputin and I have achieved fame on the dark side. I am even a named McCann relative. Boring. Groundhog.
…………………………..
Sam, were you brought up in a hot climate? I was and even now I find all shoes / boots a bit of a nuisance but our pavements aren’t designed for barefoot. Mostly cos of chewing gum and discarded needles! Hoping to retire to the sun soon and discard them again!
