David Cameron Champions ‘No Poppy Day’ Afghanistan: In Pictures

WE can now tell you that Conservative Party leader David Cameron has been meeting British soldiers at the Task Force Helmand HQ in Lashkar Gah, also visiting military chiefs and a wheat seed distribution Centre helping local farmers out of poppy production. Anorak has long championed No Poppy Day, when donors will only wear the central black button and plastic stem of old-style commemorative poppies. Incidentally, looking at with his shiny face, squeaky hair and shoes, he reminds us of a Tony Blair-Prince Charles hybrid. Good thing is that when he gets into power, he’ll be easy to parody. Conservative Party leader Davd Cameron wanders through the Kabul Military Training Centre in Afghanistan today where he saw British soldiers training new Afghan National Army recruits. The camp, just outside Kabul used to be a Russian army base and is now littered with rusting Soviet tanks. Mr. Cameron is on a three day visit to Afghanistan where he has visited Kandahar, Laskar Gah and Kabul.
