SHRIEN Dewani: Anorak’s at-a-glance look at the murder of Anni Dewani in the news. Is the self-styled “German Master” the 39-year-old UK-based prostitute who alleges that Shrien Dewani paid him for sex? The Sun says it is.

Max Clifford, Mr Dewani’s media handler, who was most likely not there at the time of any alleged sex, says it’s not. Mr Dewani and his team state that the widow has ever had sex with a man. Mr Dewani says the male prostitute is mistaken.

The Sun reports that the German Master has been interviewed by Scotland Yard. His testimony is now with the Specialist Crime Directorate. They will hand it to South African police.

Mr Dewani is on £250,000 bail. South African prosecutors want him to go there and answer questions about any alleged involvement in his wife’s murder. (Read convicted man Zola Tongo’s statements here.).

The police’s theory seems to be that is Mr Dewani is gay it might have soured his marriage.

Meanwhile, an intrepid Cape Argus reporter went out to see if he could hire a murderer. He could. In half a day, he got three men willing to kill for between R5 000 to R15 000.

South Africa is not coming out of this well…
