The first miscreants to fall foul of the news laws on online pornography are two dominatrix. Their videos feature “heave whipping” and hard and repeated kicks to the genitals. Megara Furie and Mistress R’eal take a bow. The footage breaches the Authority for Television on Demand’s code.

Rule 14 of the Atvod handbook bans video-on-demand services from showing material that would be refused classification by the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification), previously the British Board of Film Censors.  You can read more about their record of censoring things herehere, hereherehere. It’s mixed.

And you can recall the words of Mervyn Griffith-Jones QC.

“Would you approve of your young sons, young daughters – because girls can read as well as boys – reading this book? Is it a book that you would have lying around in your own house? Is it a book that you would even wish your wife or your servants to read?”

He was talking about DH Lawrence’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover at the 1960 obscenity trial in 1960. (You onanists can buy that at all good bookshops.)

The women’s sites also breached a rule intended to keep hardcore pornography out of the reach of minors.

Mistress Megara Furie’s film Ballbusting was reviewed thus by Atvod:

“The sustained kicking appears to cause pain and on several occasions reference is made to the man’s genitals beginning to bleed. The end of the video features a close up which gives clear sight of Glasgow Mistress Megara Furie’s bloodied feet… With clear sight of forceful kicks to the genitals which appear to break the skin, this goes beyond the allowance made by the BBFC [British Board of Film Classification] for ‘moderate, non-abusive consensual activity’.”

Mistress R’eal’s film A Bullwhipping In The Woods (parts 1 and 2), shows a man being beaten for “not eating faeces off her shoes”.

Niche stuff between consenting adults. Nothing illegal in that. But the censors says it others might see it. As ever, we’re invited to wonder if the internet can control you and your kids, just as video nasties and acid music did in the 1980s or video games can do now.

Porn is pretty much everywhere. It can be hard to avoid. But the State prefers that you engage in and view ethical porn.

Megara Furie, 31, removed the material. She says:

“The banned material, as far as I am aware was one ball kick, which resulted in the equivalent of a shaving cut and lots of blood because it was a testicle. I was happy to take that down. It was an eye-opener and I’ll now be more selective about my content. I wasn’t aware I was breaching the rules.”

And:

“It is abhorrent to make content available to minors. Now I only work with sites which accept credit cards.”

No word yet from Mistress R’eal, although that name has featured in the Press before.

In 2005, Wales Online reported:

A TREORCHY businessman is behind bars for harassing a bondage queen who “showed him the ropes”. Simon Owen, aged 37, visited Melanie Lumb at her home which has its own dungeon fitted with chains, whips and handcuffs. A court heard Mrs Lumb is better known as Mistress R’eal, a dominatrix based in Kensington, London.

Owen was a regular client who indulged in kinky sex games with Mrs Lumb who advertises herself as “among the best of UK mistresses”…

The court heard that when police asked Owen why he first visited Mistress R’eal he said: “She was just going to show me the ropes.”

Prosecutor Ieuan Bennett said: “He called her hundreds and hundreds of times and they fell out. “She got a two-year restraining order on him to stop. But he could not help himself and kept calling her – blocking up her phone and chatline.”

The court heard Owen made life hell for Mrs Lumb and her husband, John

And in 2008, the Daily Mirror told us:

Sir Harry Secombe’s niece is a sleazy £130-an-hour sex torturer… Calling herself Mistress R’eal, the mum of two advertises her services on a website while posing in depraved photos that would have Sir Harry – who died seven years ago aged 79 – spinning in his grave.

Always tasteful to speak on behalf of the dead and have them pass judgement on the living.

And if British films are banned, surely the foreign film makers will hold sway. If you’re thinking of making a British porn flick, this is the list of things that could outrage the morality council and turn you into a criminal:

  • Spanking
  • Caning
  • Aggressive whipping
  • Penetration by any object “associated with violence”
  • Physical or verbal abuse (regardless of consent)
  • Urolagnia (known as “water sports”)
  • Female ejaculation
  • Strangulation
  • Facesitting
  • Fisting

Says Myles Jackman of Backlash, “an umbrella organisation providing academic, legal, and campaigning resources defending freedom of sexual expression”:

“Pornography is the canary in the coalmine of free speech: it is the first freedom to die. If this assault on liberty is allowed to go unchallenged, other freedoms will fall as a consequence… This declaration of State censorship will affect millions of consenting adults who choose to view British pornography.

“It will impose an unnecessary trade barrier, which has already caused independent UK producers to shut down and result in a significant loss of revenue to the Treasury. It is practically unworkable as it can be circumvented by proxy servers. It has implications for all forms of freedom of expression on the internet.

“Of particular concern in terms of loss of freedom is the underlying intent to allow undesirable foreign websites to be blocked under UK ISPs’ filtering systems. This has serious implications for freedom of information. The fight back must start here.”

Itziar Urrutia, who runs the Urban Chick Supremacy Cell, a dominatrix fetish website, said:

“The patriarchy knows full well that the CPS [Crown Prosecution Service] don’t prosecute these minority-interest websites under the Obscene Publications Act because a jury wouldn’t convict. So they resort to illegal ‘rules’. This will end in a grown-up court.

“Atvod have erected themselves as the UK’s Pornfinder General. A modern witch-hunt against a peril that sacrifices children to a fantasy evil created by the state. The sole purpose of this new puritanism is mass control and surveillance, under the pretence of ‘protection’.”

Of course, if you really want to find it, you can.
