eBay dogging and murder caravan goes viral

On eBay the caravan “suitable for affairs or murders” is for sale.

“Apparently I owned this utterly crap caravan for three weeks before actually setting eyes on it.

“My husband drunkenly bought it on Ebay, and neglected to mention that one day he’d taken the day off work and driven halfway across the country to pick it up, deposit it around the back of our office, and failed to declare it as technically a marital ‘asset’ until recently.

“Luckily, I’m the trusting type, and despite appearances I don’t think he bought it solely for the purpose of having a sordid extra-marital affair or taking up dogging, however as you might be able to see from the pictures, it would be PERFECT for both…

“It has been brought to my attention that the “caravan” would also be suitable for use as a rolling meth lab. Apologies for the omission.”

EBay To Sell Off PayPal: No, Not Doing It Because Of Icahn, No Siree!

EBay has just announced that it’s to sell off PayPal. All of which comes as something of an amusement as the company has been screaming loudly for ages now that of course it is not going to do any such thing. The reason being that a hedge fund investor (he prefers to call himself an “active” investor) has been pushing the company to do this. So, of course, management has been shouting “No!” for no one wants to be told what to do by outsiders. Especially when it turns out he’s right and you change your mind:

EBay said on Tuesday that it would spin off its PayPal payments unit into a separate publicly traded company, taking a step the activist hedge fund magnate Carl C. Icahn first demanded nine months ago.

The move will cleave eBay almost in half, separating it from the payments processor it acquired 12 years ago and built into a giant that generates almost half of the company’s revenue.

For nine months that management has been saying that Icahn is crazy to be demanding such a thing. And now they’re saying he’s been right all along.

As to why the plan might make sense: it’s hugely expensive to set up an electronic payments processing operation. Not because the code is difficult but because the bureaucratic regulations about money laundering and so on are so fearsomely complex. Meaning that if you’ve got one already then there’s a great opportunity to get other people to use that system you’ve already got. But, if you’re tied into one auction house or online retailer then people who own other such companies will be extremely hesitant to adopt your payment method (it’s notable that Amazon doesn’t take PayPal, in part because it’s owne4d by EBay). Thus divorce the payments processor from the auction house and each could be worth more alone.

Yet Mr. Icahn succeeded in the long run. In an interview, Mr. Donahoe acknowledged that eBay was following the strategy Mr. Icahn had recommended and that the company had vocally rejected.

We “got to the same place that Carl said early on,” he said.

But he contended the company arrived at its conclusion through “a deliberate process,” and not by reacting to outside pressure.

Yeah, yeah, sure you did, sure you did.

eBay Is Down Worldwide crashed this evening around 1800. The net is getting busy/red hot with angry punters trying to find out why their goods aren’t been sold.

The site will not log on anyone. Thousands of transaction are probably affected.

I’ve checked a lot worldwide via and the ebay problem looks worldwide.

The second greatest eBay advert ever: The Mercedes E320 Cd with boot big enough for 2 small or 1 big person

FOR sale: Mercedes E320 Cdi.

It’s not pristine. AS the eBay advert goes:

If you are looking for an immaculate, well maintained example of a Mercedes e320 CDI… you have come to the wrong place.

If however, you are low on self esteem, with a strapped budget, but shooting for the stars, welcome to my auction. May I present to you, one of the finest feats in Germanic engineering politely modelled by my ‘more to love’ missus. As you can see from the photos this car has seen things… things it cannot forget. I have owned this car for 3 years, and up to then it had been lovingly cared for and maintained. Since owning the vehicle, it has been thrashed, raced, rallied, and the interior has been smashed up in a domestic, not to mention the time my wife booted the wing because I suggested she eat a salad or two. ( please refer to photo of foot next to dent for reference) The car was lovingly cleaned in preparation for the 2012 summer olympics, and may be in need of another one now. This car has been a dream, and only broken down twice. But since it has had new brake pads, discs, thermostat, front springs, all the fuel lines replaced, and i even put some water in the squishes. as for the bad bits… there are none… just kidding there are lots. The cd changer in the boot doesn’t work, but the radio does ( we have already preset the channels to suit our clientelle)
The air conditioning isn’t working, but the electric windows do, so bonus. The car smokes when you boot it hard.

The rear subframe bushes could probably do with being replaced…

The good bits. Boot is big enough for 2 small or 1 big person ( see pictures)

This car is well admired and often stopped by members of her majesty’s police, who give out FREE advice concerning your drinking habits and whether or not your tires need replaced. ( which is soon by the way)

Purchase of this vehicle will result in a severe rise in the number of looks of admiration you get in your local town centre, I would personally recommend wearing a large gold plated chain, a half open shirt, shaving ones head, and wearing 1 bottle of cologne at any given time to truly get desired female attention.

The stereo system is suited to playing Russian Techno, Polish house, Bulgarian dubsteb, Romanian hard house, and turkish trance at full volume, whilst not detracting from the over glamour of the avian fecal mattered roof and rusty panels. Seriously now gentlemen. Ladies flock to this car. I’d like to say that I have customised the horn, but i haven’t. It would be great if someone did. If you win this auction I will save you time, effort and eye watering hassle by telling you where i hid the sardines. This car in the limbo of being to good to break, and to bad to be fat and seen in. all questions welcomed. We do not accept food as payment, nor coupons for iceland. As for terms and conditions, we will happily airlift this car to any destination in west africa, should you be in the possession of a cheque which you have overpaid, we will happily send you the difference. If you are a diplomat or sovereign who has 46,000,000 USD, but can’t access it for lack of a processing fee, please call us straight away, as I have a team of lawyers waiting for my signal to help. Get back in touch buddy, i’m worried the troops got to you. As for real terms and conditions. The car is crap. If you want it come and buy it. I guarantee 100% this car will cause you trouble, and cost you money. Do not plan on coming to try and shake us down on the price, we KNOW EVERYTHING that is wrong with this this vehicle. WE have driven the thing for 40,000 miles. We wouldn’t be selling it if it was any good whatsoever… it runs. be happy. SERIOUS BIDS ONLY. NO TIME WASTERS!

Unfortunately we have had to re-list this item, as it was taken down by ebay for not complying with a few of their rules. It is now compliant. Please feel free to bid, it is a genuine auction, the CAR is for sale… only the car.

sorry, has had to be re listed for a second time, we have revised it so it won’t get taken down again.

please no false bids. We actually want to sell the car.

Bid here.

FOR sale on eBay: 1930s/1940s Vintage French Knickers Silk and Lace x x ** The knickers appear to be second hand, at least. What might be more refreshing is the model doing her bit to undermine modern idea of beauty. Seller TanyaWilliams69  is every inch the natural woman. As she says:

Apparently eBay’s dodging taxes too

EBAY is dodging taxes. Or so said the Sunday Times over the weekend. The company, instead of collecting money for stuff here in the UK collects it through it’s Luxembourg PayPal company. So all the taxes get collected over there, not over here.

This is being called, umm, tax dodging, or tax avoidance. It’s certainly not tax evasion as everyone knows it’s legal.

Facebook, Google, Apple, Amazon, eBay: are all tax dodging scumbags

FACEBOOK, Google, Apple, Amazon and eBay are all tax dodging scumbags. At least this is what the Daily Mail would have you believe, that the big five internet firms, Facebook, Google, Amazon, eBay and Apple are all tax dodging bastards:

Figures from the companies’ American filings suggest that the five made revenue of £12.2billion in Britain in 2010 from British consumers and advertisers.

On the basis of their global profit margins for the year, that would mean profits for the five from sales to British customers would have amounted to almost £2.5billion. Corporation tax at 28 per cent would have seen them pay £685million.Instead, subsidiaries established by the five in Britain paid just over £19million in 2010, or 0.8 per cent.

The problem with this is that it’s all entirely bollocks: because we’re in the European Union.

Men’s Pop White STORM Watch On EBay: Used Girlfriend Not Wanted

SO. Why are you selling your Men’s Pop White STORM Watch on EBay?

IF you want to look like an offensively rich footballer at fraction of the cost take a look at this bad boy. This rather delicious watch for the sportier men among you was given to me by my idiot of an ex girlfriend, who by the way ended up in bed last Thursday with Steve. Steve, for your information, is not me.

The Greatest eBay Advert Ever: The Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec Ghia (With Knickers)

THE best ever eBay adverts if for a “Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec Ghia Mint Green (Possibly works underwater but this is unconfirmed)” sold by “Pistolfeet” for £1080 on april 16, 2011.

The advert:

IF Trebor made car paint then I imagine it would look something like the colour of this car, it’s a pale minty green. I will include some green Trebor mints in the sale so that you can compare for yourself. Please specify if you would prefer Extra Strong mints instead, they are white (unlike the colour of this car) but I personally prefer them even if I do hold them partially responsible for the decay in one of my teeth.

I took this car in part exchange along with some cash for another car I was selling. I didn’t really want it but I wanted the car I had less and since I am a valeter by trade I saw potential in this.

Mum Sells Sons Toys On eBay: 4Chan Pollute The Soap Dish

WHO is the mum who’s selling her children’s manga Beyblade toys on eBay to teach them a lesson? To add to the punishment, the sales pitch comes with a picture of two crying boys.

Mum is daney21. 4Chan spotted the story and the bids for the 8 toys. The bid rises from an opening gambit of $69 to an impressive $999,999. (For that money, mum might even included in the deal the boys AND a free tumbler.)
Mum sends an email to a 4chan bidder:

“Do you plan to pay over $9000.00 for the beyblades or is this a joke to you because this has been a problem all day and I am going to report to ebay.”

First UK eBay Seller Prosecuted For Online Auction Fixing

PAUL Barrett, 39, from Stanley, is the first eBay seller in the UK to be prosecuted for online auction fixing – he bid against himself to inflate the price on his own items.

Skipton Magistrates’ Court heard that Barrett, who hires out minibuses for a living, was called “shanconpaul” when selling and “paulthebusman” when buying.

(He should learn from online poker and have pals in other parts of the world to fix the thing for him, allegedly.)

Sarah Palin’s Signed X Box for Sale, Levi Johnston Goes Nuts

WHO wants an X Box singed by Sarah Palin? Right, you all do. Now, who wants an X box designed by Sarah Palin for $1.1million?

“The Sarah Palin Signed Autograph XBOX 360 Story:

My name is David Morrill. I live in Alberta Canada and I have always wanted to drive the Alaskan highway from my home near Edmonton Alberta, all the way to Alaska. This trip is about a 7000km / 4300mi round trip. I figured that since I was going up there anyway, I should try to see the most famous person from that state, so I timed my trip with the governors picnic in Wasilla. When the governors picnic took place, there were hordes of people trying to see her, but I pushed my way through the crowd to the front of the line. When I was in front of Sarah Palin, I told her that I had traveled three days to see her and asked her to sign my Xbox360. She said it was the most extravagant thing she had ever been asked to sign. I shook her hand, removed myself from the crowd, and then I packed up my Xbox360 and headed home. It was one of the greatest thrills of my life to have watched Sarah Palin on CNN, SNL, Youtube, and then to see her right in front of me. If you would like to learn more about me, you may click on my user ID.”

Levi Johnston must be kicking himself that he never asked Sarah plain to sign his nuts

Tired 1963 Pontiac, One Dead Owner, Offers In Region Of £226,521

AN eBAY auction for the 1963 Pontiac LeMans Tempest (left) is a credit-crunch busting story that gives hope to memebrs of the Anorak carpool:

The advert:

Obtained after owner died. Appears to have original interior but no motor, no transmission. Body has a little rust and some dents. There’s stuff in the trunk, but no key to open it. Opening bid nine days ago was a mere $500.

As he says:

After one week, eBay seller 123ecklin will pocket $226,521 before auction fees. What happened between Day 1 and Day 9 is an amazing story.

Nearly going once… stalling twice…
