Daily Mail Fail: Lovely Typo In Story Blaming Liberals For Ruining Education
THE Daily Mail is outraged at the standards of education. It blames “liberal education dogma” for the lowering of education standards.
The paper invited “teacher and graduate” Sarah Smith to tell readers just how dire it all is. And she knows who to blame.
Yes. It’s the Daily Mail’s sub-editor who failed to spot the typo in the standfirst.
Yes, yes, we all make them – even here at Anorka – but the error at the top of an article about how how the Mail’s liberal enemies ruined the country is choice…

Russian TV Broadcasts Video Game Fan Art As An Example of WWI US Propaganda
THE Moscow Times says Russia’s state TV network Channel One broadcast the above poster as an example of WWI US propaganda. You might know it better as fan art for the video game Team Fortress 2.
A voiceover claimed the painting had been created by a U.S. organization called the Committee on Public Information, which allegedly created propaganda posters of “German monsters” to get the message across that “Germans are the devil incarnate…”
The poster was actually created by a Finnish artist who goes by the nickname TankTaur, TJournal reported. It was published on the DeviantArt website in 2009 and can still be found there.
You can see how they were fooled. Get a load of this stuff…

Liverpool Balls: Puma Social Media Campaign Fails Wonderfully
THE big idea at Pumas was for football fans to Tweet the #foreverfaster” hashtag and get a personalised message from their favourite Puma stars, such as Liverpool target Radamel Falcao, Cesc Fabregas and Marco Reus.

Save Gazza And Gaza: Is The Human Race Too Stupid To Continue To Live?
THIS is one of those little stories that can make you very worried indeed about the future of the human race. Some Twitter hashtag about Gaza (the place being bombed) was mistaken by fans of retired alcoholic footballers to be about Gazza. Confusion ensues:
Fans of former England footballer Paul Gascoigne, popularly known as ‘Gazza’, were left confused and fearing for his future as a Free Gaza campaign took off online.
Tweets with the hashtag #freegaza have been trending on Twitter in response to the violence in the Middle East, with users using their posts to urge Israeli forces to stop their assault on the Gaza Strip. The conflict, which started on July 8, has led to the deaths of more than 1,200 people.
But followers of the troubled player, who has become known for his battles with alcohol and drugs, mistakenly thought that he had been arrested and that the campaign was in support of his freedom.

Social Media Morons Of The Day: Ribena For Breakfast
WHAT the Mad Men of advertising’s Golden Age would have made of today social media experts can only be guessed at. And our guess is they’d have made them unemployed. Anyone with a spark of creativity louder than a gnat’s fart would nowadays be hailed as social media guru.
Today’s disaster is supplied by Ribena, the sugary drink.
The Tweet copy trills:
