Brand McCann: Buying Into Madeleine McCann
FROM Paulo Reis in Portugal:
The brand name “Madeleine’s Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned” will be a commercial brand, protected by law, soon. The managers of the campaign to find Madeleine have applied with the European Community Trademark Registration to protect the name “Madeleine’s Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned”. The request filled also asks for that trademark to be registered for social services providers and advising in cases of missing children. The registration of Madeleine’s trademark was requested on May 18, fifteen days after Madeleine McCann disappeared from her room, at the Ocean Club resort, in Praia da Luz, Algarve.
What will be sold in the shop? The Maddy Catty?

September 18th, 2007 at 1:02 am
I think I’m on the wrong site here, anyone point me to somewhere I can report this to whilst these members laugh at others misfortunes?
September 18th, 2007 at 12:17 am
What parent would allow that image of their young daughter on the net? At any time?
September 18th, 2007 at 12:01 am
What about this image? This has only come on the site in the last day or so.
http://www.imdb.com/gallery/hh/2022453/HH/2022453/iid_1375617.jpg.html?hint=group
The others were there about 2 days ago but not this one. Am I alone in thinking this image should not be on this site for 1 reason or another? Thoughts please or am I just going mad?

Never mind the DNA and sniffer dogs and floating the whole caboodle on the stock exchange. How about getting some behavioiural psychologists in. I’m not sure there is a ‘proper’ way to behave when you’ve lost your child, but some things really stick out to me.
1) I thought Kate looked guilty as hell when she met the Pope, really furtive. Check out the video again.
2) If my eldest kid had been abducted inexplicably, there is NO WAY I would let the other two out of my sight in the immediate aftermath. Damn, I’d need them surgically removed from my arms. Yet the twins were popped into daycare. Then off they went, globe trotting. Like they knew there was no threat…
3) Why are we disbelievers getting rapped on the knuckles for even ‘thinking’ the unthinkable. One homicide survery states in non-stranger situations victims under 20 years of age, 54% were most likely to be killed by a family member. So not that unthinkable to look at the immediate family then.
4) Just because someone keeps trying to ram their ‘truth’ down our throats doesn’t mean their version of reality is right - it could be an extreme symptom of a psychological disturbance (ie personality disorder). Have they been examined by a psychologist?
Anybody else thinking along the same lines?

I’ve had the best day ever!’ will be both copyrighted & trademarked
I think you should be ashamed of that comment. Mock the parents all you like, but to mock the last words of a 3 year old girl who probably has been murdered. You couldn’t stoop any lower!
September 17th, 2007 at 6:48 pm
They only people visibly profiting from Madeleine’s image
(Because that’s all that remains of her) ….are surprise… the McCanns.
I’m registering the Trademark :
“If anyone can, the McCann’s can”
Incase any of you lot try to profit from it. I know what you’re all like in here
and I’m starting my NEW petition called
“The right for EVERYONE to drug kids , abandon them, go get drunk AND profit”
Any takers? Please sign
(+Give generously. Cash, cheque, paypal, diamonds, false alibi, wine, Book deal, photo opportunity, anything. Oh, except your opinion when it doesn’t suit us)

you guys are idiots!
of course they have to trademark the fund name…after all, its a large sum of money involved, and if it isn’t all used to find ,adeleine, they will want to use it to help other people find their children…they’ve already made this clear…
obviously most of you are probably unemployed losers sitting at home speculating and have no idea of how the business world works, and yes, their child is missing, but there is a large amount ofpeople behind the scenes looking after the money, and trying to protect their child ’s image from being stuck on the front of A` T-SHIRT and sold by idiots wanting to capitalise off the whole ordeal….

Am I alone in wondering if Mr Branson coming out in support, is anything to do with The Sun (Rupert Murdoch & Sky) begining to express doubts?
September 17th, 2007 at 6:48 am
Excellent site Ron and a good summary of what we have all been surmising on this site.
Customer.relations@fly.virgin.com
e mail and let Branson know what you think of his decision to support this couple who at least should be charged with neglect. I notice that two previous major sponsors have decided not to sponsor this new fund. No corporation would back this fund I am sure.
September 17th, 2007 at 4:14 am
Thanks, Ron, for providing the link and reminding me of that information and for posting a comment to the blog’s author. She will very likely respond back to you, as she reviews comments. Not sure where the website originates from. I’ve wanted to comment there, too, but haven’t made time yet to sign up to be able to.

Community Verizon says;
Here’s the other thing. She only gets Gerry. I’m pretty convinced of that because there is no mention of the friends helping in the initial “search” and no mention of them being present when hotel staff and police arrive.
Ron says;
Source Telegraph.co.uk 12/09/2007
Kate McCann ran back to the restaurant at 10pm, saying Madeleine was missing.
10:14pm Police were called after “the friends made an initial search”.

Thanks Jolie- is that an Australian site?, I have posted my response on it too, but I had to register first, have I just registered to something in Australia??

Are Mr. and Mrs. McCann the most clueless parents-in-mourning ever? Guilty or not, they are definitely tasteless and repulsive to me.
Have you read the September 13 blog essay “What “What Really Happened to Madeleine McCann? I Think I’ve Figured it Out.” by ‘TootToot’ It carefully reviews what we know about the case, particularly that crucial first day when Madeleine was announced missing and speculates what might have gone wrong and why the parents may have made the decisions they did:
http://community.verizon.net/thread.jspa?threadID=1700002105&start=0
I hope everyone will take the time to read it.
BTW, I love the humor on this thread/blog. This case certainly has enough peculiarities in it and this patent pending business is bizarre and absurd.

polcop
Can you tell me if the kneeling down position with head down in front of you is a typical drug type scenario for a body. Like the young girl whose parents allowed her picture to be shown when she had died of a drug overdose.
September 16th, 2007 at 11:51 pm
On 16- sep
Where is she says
“They keep talking of blood in the apartment. Well an overdoes of sleeping pills doesn’t make you bleed.”
Sorry but i am a former Police Officer i have to tell you you are wrong
an overdose is not a nice way to go its not all sweetness and light, blood and faces and urine are quite often involved as a person loses bodily functions
i went to such a sudden death after the girl involved dies and all she took was TEN paarcetamols.

Some great “Andrew selected/edited” snippets in here for us below:
“There’s no let-up,” said Calum, whose Infohost firm hosts the family’s official website, run using some of the £1 million in donations being sent to the privately run Madeleine’s Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned.
(©™® Patent Pending)
“There’s been a big increase in orders since they became suspects. Somebody came back 30 times, ordering 100 bands. Sometimes people just want one or two, so we throw a couple of extra bands in. It’s difficult to get rid of some of the medium-sized bands as they don’t fit many people. People would still want the Madeleine bands even if she was found. Her face is a (TRADE) mark.™ It’s everywhere.”
“I know from speaking to Gerry on the phone that he is 100% innocent. They are definitely not guilty. Gerry is very determined to find his daughter. You can tell it in his voice when he talks on the phone. He wouldn’t have done all this if they were guilty. If the fund ©™® is still going, we will continue the website even if they are charged and face trial. They wouldn’t want us to back off …”
WHAT?????? There’s more.
Madeleine’s uncle, John McCann, from Glasgow, said: “The main objective of the Madeleine fund is to leave no stone unturned (©™® Patent Pending) in the search for Madeleine.”
Except when it comes to Kate and Gerry’s stone, they want to crawl back under that one obviously.
This is the “killer” line for me everyone…
Calum is already working on new ventures after spotting a market in missing-person websites. Last week he contacted the family of missing schoolgirl Rosemary Edwards, from Hampshire, after her father made an emotional TV appeal. He said: “I don’t think we should be making money out of it, but I would love to do more stuff like this. We phoned up to see if they wanted a website for that missing girl, but they haven’t called back.”
I wonder why not? Maybe they are genuine people that don’t want anything to do with “Murder.Inc” (©™® Patent Pending) and the McCanns?

No Stone Unturned - Steve Jackson
Info can be found on Amazon
Editorial Reviews
Founded in 1991 as a nonprofit forensic investigative team, NecroSearch International specializes in homicide cases shelved because of “corpus indelecti” that is, a body cannot be produced as evidence that a murder has taken place. Coming from a wide range of backgrounds geophysicists to “cadaver dog” specialists to chemists and rank-and-file cops the members of NecroSearch combine their skills to produce the most proficient (and most exciting) detective work since Sherlock Holmes. They take the coldest cases and comb for hidden graves on rural hillsides, in suburban backyards and at the bottom of mud-choked riverbeds, searching for remains that have been buried anywhere from two to 20 years. (Or 70, as in the notorious Romanov family case.) Having sharpened his true crime teeth on Monster, Jackson competes here with two other books on forensic science to appear this season: Michael Baden and Marion Roach’s Dead Reckoning and Corpse by Jessica Snyder Sachs. But while those books concentrate on the establishment of forensic methods as formidable weapons in the fight for criminal justice, this book combines the burden of scientific proof with rousing tales of police work out in the field or the quarry, the Rocky Mountains or someone’s backyard. The book covers the group’s quirky beginnings and digs into its most important cases suspensefully; Jackson’s sharp eye misses nothing in the painstakingly rendered details. A must-have for true crime fans, it should also be of great interest to anyone fascinated with the practical applications of science. 32 pages of photos not seen by PW.

Could “Leaving no stone unturned” be a clue as to where the Police should look for a body?? Pity they aren’t being a bit more specific!
Like others, I’m appalled the McCanns haven’t at least been charged yet with gross neglect of their three young children. If they’d shown just half the care and attention shown since to ‘Cuddle Cat’, then poor Madeleine might still be with us. (Mind you, I’m suspicious that even ‘Cuddle Cat’ has been sedated in case he gives anything away!)

I’m submitting “No McCann do” to the Oxford Dictionary. It means: a response to a tricky question that the person asked the question doesn’t want to answer.

Seriously, I get back up to say not only NO but NO WAY can I imagine a child has an accidental death and people visit the television station pointing at the child asking people to put up posters while taking donations and selling bracelets. Is it possible? If so, wouldn’t that be the kind of circumstance that would actually be ludicrous?
