John MaCain Was Born In Milwaukee

JOHN MaCain Was Born In Milwaukee. Fact.

It’s as much of a fact as the other fact that John McCain says he would hate to live in Milwaukee.

Here‘s the Washington Post article in which McCain turned his back on his home town. He’s at a Diamondbacks-Padres game with the journalist Mark Leibovich:

John MCain Is Approaching Holiness

BARACK Obama might be the Messiah, but John MCain is approaching holiness.

In “Clean Hands and a Pure Heart” David Gelernter writes in the Weekly Standard:

Granting the importance of the topic, the difference in moral stature between presidential candidates has rarely been as enormous as it is today–not (or not only) because Obama’s is so small but because McCain’s is so large.

There is no single English word for McCain the hero, the moral entity. But in Hebrew he would be called a tsaddik–a man of such nobility and moral substance that he approaches holiness.

If Obama’s Media Wins, Democracy Loses

MICHAEL Malone sees the media bias for Obama and how in the end, when the media is so partisan, no-one wins:

(N)othing , nothing I’ve seen has matched the media bias on display in the current presidential campaign… (E)ven Democrats, who have been gloating over the pass—no, make that shameless support—they’ve gotten from the press, are starting to get uncomfortable as they realize that no one wins in the long run when we don’t have a free and fair press…

An Army Of Davids Worships The Obama Stigmata

IN the US, a white woman called Ashley Todd says she is attacked by black man.

She sports a McCain bumper sticker on her car. Her face shows the mark of the number 8, the black 8 ball; or is it a backwards B, the Obama stigmata that is the work of the Obama anti-Christ?

The story breaks. The woman claims. And an Army of Davids goes bonkers.

Glenn Reynolds notes with cynicism:

Joe Biden’s On McCain’s Kitschen Table Cabinet

JOE Biden supports McCain – again:

He’s not been a maverick on virtually anything that genuinely affects the things that people really talk about around their kitchen table – Joe Biden, speaking of John McCain during the vice presidential debate

Figure of speech: metonymy (meh-TON-y-my), the scale-changing trope. From the Greek, meaning “name change.”

Candidate debates give Figaro the same ennui he feels watching most Super Bowls. Everybody is just so darn careful. Last night, the cliches flew like nobody’s business. The two candidates used the tired old “kitchen table” five times, for instance.

Ashley Todd Mirror’s Anne Tyler’s Slipping-Down Life

ASHLEY Todd, she of the Obama stigmata, rings a bell:

The minute I saw that photo of the young McCain volunteer who is supposed to have had a letter “B” carved in her face by a black assailant, I thought of Anne Tyler’s early  novel “A Slipping-Down Life”.  It’s about a teenage girl who’s so infatuated with the leader of a local rock band that she carves his name in her forehead; unfortunately, she forgets that using a mirror to do the deed creates certain basic complications.

B Is For Blessed: Ashley Todd Shows Sings Of Obama Stigmata

ASHLEY Todd is telling Pittsburgh police that she “was not robbed and there was no 6’4″ black male attacker”.

Police are most likely telling her that if you are going to carve your face with a letter of the day, to remember that you are looking at a reflection and to buy another mirror to create a reflection of the reflection, or get big black man to cut out a stencil.

Five Ordinary Joes: Raging Skinhead Plumber Joe Wurzelbacher Is No Mr Clean

BARACK Obama is in conversation with a plumber called Joe Wurzelbacher.

Joe becomes a star. Joe’s a celeb. Joe the plumber is mentioned 23 times in the Obama-McCain debate.

Honest Joe is on the telly with Diane Sawyer, telling one and all that when he told Obama at an Ohio campaign stop that he makes $250,000 he was being economical with the actualité.

Joe is now talked about as being a “raging skinhead plumber“.

Obama Campaigns On XBox 360

BARACK Obama is campaigning for XBox 360 players

Last week we noted unconfirmed sightings of an “Obama for President” billboard in the Xbox 360 racing game Burnout Paradise. Today we’re able to report that it is, in fact, an official advertisement placed by the senator’s campaign team.

“I can confirm that the Obama campaign has paid for in-game advertising in Burnout,” Holly Rockwood, director of corporate communications at Electronic Arts, the game’s publisher, told me via email, noting that EA regularly allows ad placements in their online games. “Like most television, radio and print outlets, we accept advertising from credible political candidates,” she continued. “Like political spots on the television networks, these ads do not reflect the political policies of EA or the opinions of its development teams.”

To my knowledge, this Burnout ad is far and away the most prominent use of a major online game to promote a presidential candidate’s campaign. There have been near-misses, of course: In 2006, for example, when he was seriously considering a run for the Democratic nomination, ex-Virginia Gov. Mark Warner made an avatar-based appearance at a press conference in Second Life.

Look out for McCain on space invaders near you…

Palin Comes Clean On Abuses Of Power

SAYS Sarah Palin:

See as a senator, John has confronted the corrupt ways of Washington. And the wasteful spending. And the abuses of power. As president, he’s going to end those once and for all.

Last Friday, the Troopergate report said:

For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 2952.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.

McCain is working already…

Obama’s Plane Stinks

HACKS on the Great Shark Hunt give the inside track on Obama and McCain’s camps:

This Is Why Barack Obama Is Winning

WHY is Barack Obama winning? Money:

Barack Obama is outspending John McCain at nearly a three-to-one clip on television time in the final weeks of the presidential election, according to ad buy information obtained by The Fix, a financial edge that is almost certainly contributing to the momentum for the Illinois senator in key battleground states.

From Sept. 30 to Oct. 6, Obama spent more than $20 million on television ads in 17 states including more than $3 million in Pennsylvania and more than $2 million each in Florida, Michigan and Ohio. McCain in that same time frame spent just $7.2 million in 15 states.

Even when the Republican National Committee’s independent expenditure spending in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin is factored in (a total of $5.3 million), Obama still outspent the combined GOP forces by roughly $8 million in the last week alone.

Money… And you thought the US economy was dead…

Sarah Palin Breaks A Leg

DO you know what John McCain said to Sarah Palin before she went on her live TV debate with Joe Biden?  Here goes:

“I’m going to tell him the same thing he told me. I talked to him just a few minutes before I walked out there on stage. And he just said: ‘Have fun. Be yourself, and have fun.’

That’s what we tell children as they go to school – have fun. No chance…

Understanding UK Media Bias Against Palin And McCain

BIAS at the BBC? Of course. Bias in the Guardian. Natually. Only nutters vote for Palin and McCain:

That is the safe sex message of all time. Use a condom or become a Republican!”

In the light of this pig-ignorant comment coming out of Russell Brand, a so-called comedian at the recent MTV awards, some of you might be wondering if his opinion is shared by others in the UK.

Considering the incredibly biased coverage of the whole election by outlets such as the BBC and the Guardian, it is no wonder I encounter such ignorance about Gov. Palin. What is most appalling is the fact that many media outlets in the UK seem to be perfectly happy to repeat all the Daily Kos-spewed lies about her as if they were fact.

Comment pages online are filled with people repeating the various lies word for word. One finds oneself posting the link to the Palin debunk site.

It is not like they have to look very hard at her to work up a lather in their urban, patronizing minds. All the things that make Sarah Palin attractive to Middle America are the things that disgust the media establishment in the UK. In fact, they could not quite believe the outcry after Obama’s claim that Midwesterners cling to their “guns and God” when times are hard.

The left-wing media stymies the debate…

Obama Winning Because Life Is Unfair, Says McCain

BARACK Obama is winning because life is unfair, says John McCain. Does he want to keep playing?

Unfair…

Sen. John McCain said Thursday that Sen. Barack Obama’s poll numbers are rising as the economy seems to sink “because life isn’t fair.”

“He certainly did nothing for the first few days,” McCain said Thursday on Fox News. “I suspended my campaign, took our ads down, came back to Washington, met with the House folks and got on the phone, and also had face-to-face meetings.”

Fool…
