Bangladeshi labourer does amazing brick trick

THERE’S this idea among many Brits that ‘they’ are coming and taking all of ‘our’ jobs. This mainly concerns labouring jobs, where migrant workers come to Britain and work incredibly hard and get catcalled by Spesh swilling doleys who will find any excuse to not put a shift in.

Of course, there are examples in migrant workers being exploited and British grafters who can’t get a job, but being fair and even-handed isn’t nearly as fun as casting the net far and wide in the name of going, ‘eh readers?’

Felix Baumgartner falls 23 miles to Earth: the epic live feed

AT 9.31am local time, Austrian dare devil Feliz Baumgartner began his rise to 23 miles above planet Earth. He will then jump. In 1960, Joe Kittinger fell 19.5miles to Earth. That’s been the record ever since. The live feed:

Chinese zoo wows tourists with peacock’s mechanical tail

OFF we go to see the peacock at Beijing Wild Animal Park. This peacock can spread his tail to order. Ok, not exactly his own tail, more the mechical one tied to his nether reagions by animal experts.

A zoo keeper explains:

“Visitors are happy to pay to pose in front of a peacock spreading his tail but they only do it in spring when they’re breeding. So to keep the money coming in we have to tie the tail to the bird and when they’ve paid, we spread it out for the picture.”

Northampton celebrates world’s tallest poppadom tower

LOCAL news: The Tamarind Restaurant, Wellingborough Road, Northampton, has constructed the world’s tallest poppadom tower. The tower stands 5ft 8in monstertall. It features 1,280 poppadoms.

Says Tamarind owner Tipu Rahman:

“I am very proud. It was hard work and took a lot of practice but we did it. It’s brilliant for the curry industry in Northampton and really puts us on the map. It took a lot of teamwork and there were a few nervy moments but I was always confident. We had practised hard.”

Dead flying chicken hits horse rider

TO Wisconsin, where Cassie Bernard is on a horse ride with Queen Hive Farm in Assawoman, Virginia. A dead chicken falls from the sky and hits her on the head. Two more lumps of chicken just miss her.

Mullet man kicked out of Australian bar

TO Perth, Australia, where Westie David Hoogland has been ordered from the city’s Print Hall bar. He and fiancee Sarah Sorgiovanni must leave. Says David:

“I’m not in a gang, I don’t have tattoos all over me, I’m just an everyday person.”

So. Why did he have to leave? The hair. Hoogland has a mullet on his bonce.

14-year-old boys steal from mum to hire prostitutes

TO Germany, where two 14-year-olds are delighted to be in trouble. One of the boys stole €3,000 worth of jewellery from his mother. The pair sold the booty for €300 and invested the cash in prostitutes working out of a brothel in Karlsruhe.

Mum shopped them to the fuzz.

Woman says marijuana in her genitals was not hers

VIDA Golac, 18, of Golden Gate Estates, says the marijuana in her vagina is not hers.

Naples police officers pulled over the car Golac was riding in with two friends. A search produced a stash of marijuana in the back of the car near, next to Gloac. She said the weed wasn’t hers. She said it belonged to her two other passengers. They denied it and left.

“It’s a complete mystery, whoever is doing it does another little bit every day so they think I won’t notice, but I’m not stupid. I want to find them so I can shave their hair off and see how they like it.”

Man jumped into zoo lion pen after row with wife

TO Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India.  Zoo assistant director K L Purohit is telling media what happened:

“The man indentified as Suryanarayan Das (45) from Chhatrapur in Ganjam district all of a sudden climbed on the wall and jumped into the lions enclosure housing male lion, Cris, and lioness, Priyanka. We rescued Das within five minutes and rushed him to a hospital.”

Bear cub goes mad on junk food in Arizona home

THERE’S a bear in the bedroom, what am I gonna do? Call UB40? Or if you’re Phil Volk, of Sonia, Arionza, you do not call Birmingham’s premier reggae/pop band. You do not call the grandchildren down to kill it. You call the officials.

Says Volk:

“It had been on a feeding frenzy. It pulled the lid off a chocolate cake on the counter and finished that off. It tipped the trash and went through the contents of that. It got into the pantry for chips, bread, jelly beans. It was total disarray. He ate very well.”

Mr Fox gets work as human scarecrow in Norfolk

JAMIE Fox is using skills acquired studying English and music at Bangor University to work as a human scarecrow for farmer William Youngs.

Fox, 22, scares crows with a ukulele, accordion and cowbell. After the crows have been vanquished, he can buy a hat and get a job on the London Underground playing to trapped audiences.

But why bother busking with menaces? The BBC says Fox earns £250 as a scarecrow working a 10-acre rape seed plot in Aylsham, Norfolk.

Man set alight by cigarette fire escapes into path of speeding train

TO Kamloops, British Columbia, where a 51-year-old man is recovering in hospital. He has been badly burnt. There is a deep gash on his head. He is lucky to be alive.

The man had been taking a break in a field. He’d been drinking. He’d lay down in the long grsss for a smoke. The grass had caught fire. The fire had spread to his clothes. In fear of his life, the man had taken up his bicycle and raced off. It was then that a locomotive belonging to the Canadian Pacific Railway stuck him.

8 Bournemouth police drag splashing victim from swimming pool

TO Bournemouth’s Littledown Centre, where eight police officers are responding with extreme haste to reports of splashing incident.

A male, middle-aged swimmer claims youths have splashed him. The man is shouting at the alleged splashers. Police arrive. Eight of them. This is, in their words, a potentially “high-risk” situation. It calls for “dynamic” action. Two  officers jump fully clothed into the water. (They did not shower off first, as the rules demand.) One officer carries a float.

The man is apprehended and dragged to the poolside.

New Orleans accidentally lawyer drops marijuana joint in court

TO New Orleans Parish magistrate court, where attorney Jason Cantrell is talking to a police officer.

Cantrell jerks his hand. He drops a joint on the floor. NOPD officers make an easy arrest.

Cantrell, 43, is handed a summons for simple possession of marijuana.

Groom sues Pole dancer for rupturing his bladder

TO PHILADELPHIA, where the city’s Daily News reports on Patrick Gallagher. On his Stag Do, Gallagher made it to the Penthouse Club – motto: “Experience Life on Top.” 

The evening went with a pop. Gallagher is suing the establishment. His lawsuit states that having been seduced on stage and told to lie down, the stripper slid down the pole with such force that she ruptured Gallagher’s bladder.

DARK times at the Hype clothes store in Ormskirk, Lancashire. Daniella Hinnigan, 26, from Kirkby, Merseyside, has handed her iPhone 4 to 20-month-old daughter Luella. The child is using it to watch a Barney The Dinosaur film as mum shops.

WHO stole the mummified hand from St Brigida church, Legden, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany? The dead hand had been in a box since 1905. Known as the “perjury-hand”, it is said to have been chopped off a liar.

Michael Jackson guilty of kidnapping and sexually assaulting children in Birmingham

IT might be a case of nominative determinism. Michael Jackson, 50, has been found guilty in Birmingham Crown Court of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a boy and a girl, both aged 10.

Jackson changed his name from Albert England.

Why? Well, Jimmy Savile never was much of a dancer…
